Winter solstice is the time when evil forces awaken. Our village was besieged by Chernobog's servants – spawns of the winter and the cold. Chernobog commands the crackling December frosts and death itself – is it any wonder that he hates laughter and joy? He wants everyone in Arinar to forget about the merry feast of the World Creation. The grim old man closely watches the entire Snowy Bound, nobody will be able to hide from his terrifying icy gaze. But you can trick Chernobog by pretending to be one of his servants. Go and find the old hunter – he figured out how to do it.

White Beard sent you, didn't he? So you want to trick Chernobog? I have an idea how to do it. One must pretend to be one of his servants – a bear, for example! It would seem that it's rather easy, right? Get a bear skin and wrap it around yourself like a cloak. It's just that not every bear will do – only one of those that sleep in the Quiet Lair. This lair is enchanted – Chernobog's loafing bears are suffering from insomnia in there. Bring me the head of one of these bears, and I will make a mask for you. Wear it, and Chernobog will never recognize you!

As promised, I will make a mask from the head of the bear for you – wear it, and you will become invincible against Chernobog's icy gaze. According to ancient custom, during the Winter Solstice, you are supposed to go, unrecognized, inside three houses and collect ritual treats from the owners. Save it to appease the forest witch – I think she alone knows how to defeat Chernobog.

The Quiet Lair is enchanted, and therefore it will be difficult to get to the cave where Chernobog's loafing bears are struggling with insomnia. If you can, kill one of the loafing bears and bring me his head.
